Users writing Veronica Story with Roxen CMS

Vereniging Veronica is developing a website with unique historic image- and soundmaterial from Veronica, based on direct contribution from end users. This interactive Veronica Story is and will be developed, managed and run by Roxen's web content management system. Thanks to the flexibility of Roxen CMS several file formats are easy to upload en fast accessible through the website www.veronicastory.nl.
Veronica receives input from over the whole country of the Netherlands. These are in pictures, texts, sound- and videomaterial et cetera. Piet Hoffman, projectmanager for Veronica Story says: "The initiative is a huge success. The number of Veronica members is increased with more than 1000 since the launce of the website Veronica Story, one month ago. People are becoming a member to participate in the forum, to upload files and receive the newsletters."
Veronica selected Roxen due to earlier good experiences, Roxen CMS is also running on the Veronica Radioschool website. The main factors in which Roxen distinguish it self from other systems are scalability, flexibility, the fast and easy implementation possibilities and the user friendlyness. "A very important item is the use of metadata in Roxen CMS. With keywords, descriptions and catagories material can be displayed and is searchable in several ways. This results in the power to make the archive as complete and accesible possible, without the need for a huge number of editors."
By this initiative the Vereniging Veronica wants to record and feelings of the history of Veronica. Important is the contribution of the Dutch Audience. At VeronicaStory.nl visitors can log in and participate in several forums about the history of Veronica. They are invited to tell their story and upload their material and/or send by postal mail. The editors from Veronica Story redact a part of the history, based on gathered material and publishes it on the website.
In the meantime is there within a month, so many material collected that Veronica soon a bigger audio archive opens. With that and thanks to lots of fanatic members unique material can be listened. Roxen CMS will e used as an on-line audio library, from which visitors can search andlisten based on metadata.
VeronicaStory.nl runs on 3 Apple X-servers with a central storage from Apple, the so called X Raid with a total capacity of 5 Tbyte on material. During 2006 this materiaal will be published.
