New Roxen Editorial Portal Saves Time and Money

IFRA EXPO 2010, HAMBURG, GERMANY:   Roxen Editorial Portal, REP, is web-based and designed for cost-efficient multichannel publishing. New innovative tools bring the news effortlessly to all channels. The write-to-fit functionality effectively reduces time spent on creating articles.

Roxen Editorial Portal is integrated with standard desktop publishing tools and provides seamless integration between print and a multitude of digital channels. Layout-driven editing lets the user preview story templates in his or her web browser while writing, displaying a complete pre-view including images, paragraph and character styles as well as line and column breaks.

– A user will be productive within hours from being introduced to REP, says Roxen CEO Per Östlund. With REP version 5, we really have succeeded in putting the editor in the driver’s seat - multichannel publishing is made even easier and quicker at a lower cost.

According to Per Östlund, REP is also the best choice when publishing to new terminals such as iPads or iPhones.

– We are well prepared for new platforms such as smartphones or the iPad. Our hybrid reader solution provides the benefits of a native application, like App Store presence and hardware access, but also the abilities of web technology to control and automate article layout.

The Roxen News Website offers production-ready web templates and features to enrich the content with video, maps, RSS feeds and reader interaction through polls and comments.

The modern architecture of REP allows for customized adaption and integrates with other solutions. Still, the time for deployment is much less than for comparable products, usually only 6-8 weeks.
