Roxen wins 2012 Red Herring Top 100 Europe Award

It was announced in Amsterdam yesterday that Roxen has been awarded the 2012 Red Herring Top 100 Europe Award. Red Herring’s Top 100 Europe list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies, innovations, technologies and entrepreneurs.

– We believe Roxen embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. Roxen should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was the strongest it has ever been, says Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring.

The awarded companies are evaluated on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy, and integration into their respective industries. The assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the actual track record and standing of a company, which makes the list a valuable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.

– This prestigious award is yet another acknowledgement of the disruptive, innovative technology and business model provided by Roxen. In the market for editorial systems, we are unique in that we are native to the web and we have relentlessly refused to inherit the complexity of traditional news media. We provide a lean, integrated web-based solution for intake, production and distribution of content in all relevant channels – from print to web, tablets and smartphones. We help reduce cost and complexity in our customers' editorial processes, allowing them to focus on content quality and new business development at a time when technology, business models and the competitive landscape of their industry is transforming at high speed. At Roxen we have been ahead of our time for years, developing on-line and cloud solutions when everyone was still busy printing papers. I think that the team at Red Herring, as the market, has recognized that today, time is in pace with Roxen, says Per Östlund, CEO of Roxen.

This year’s list of Top 100 Europe winners includes technology innovators from 18 countries throughout Europe. The award ceremony closed a two-day conference in Amsterdam where all the nominated companies were presented and met up with venture investors, important influencers and media.

– We have attracted great interest for our products, our technology and our company from investors, other innovators, potential partners and suppliers as well as potential customers – attention well beyond what a small company usually can expect. We are honored to be among so many great new, innovative ventures and in the company of giants such as Google, eBay and Skype that are some of the former winner of this award. I am eager to go back to work on the many new opportunities that we have in our pipeline, Pe r Östlund concludes.
