HAN.nl ranked no 1 in prestigious website ranking

HAN.nl, the website of Dutch HAN University of Applied Sciences, was ranked no 1 for universities of applied sciences and 3rd in the overall ranking of websites targeting higher education in The Netherlands in a annual survey conducted by online advisors Strategy On Demand and online newspaper ScienceGuide.

The websites were assessed by students and professionals based on criteria such as contents, accessibility, design, social media and technology. The study included 55 universities and colleges in The Netherlands. HAN, represented by the President of its Governing Board Ron Bormans, was awarded the prize at ceremonies held at Delft University of Technology on June 21.

The jury’s overall opinion of HAN.nl was that “This website has a clear structure and decision process, which is well supported by interactive menus. Social media are in a prominent position at the right time.”

The cooperation between HAN University and Roxen goes back to 2001 when the first website using Roxen CMS was first launched. HAN’s current website is based on Roxen CMS and has been developed by the HAN Webteam.

- We are very happy that the close collaboration and hard, consistent, and innovative work of staff from HAN and Roxen is being recognized in a context like this. Social media integration, SEO, website management and the user friendliness of the website has been in focus lately and with the open and sharing attitude of this collaboration and and high ambitions of our customer, I am convinced that HAN will be defending its top position also in years to come, says Jan van der Veen, Managing Director of Roxen Internet Software in Benelux.

- Well structured, innovative and attractive websites with relevant, current content is essential for attracting prospective students who are in the process of choosing where to study.
